What American accent do you have? Your Result: The Midland "You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio. | |

Very Interesting Indeed
Okay, so I snatched this from Miss Rumphius Effect, but it was so interesting. (When I went to try to link the post, it had disappeared. I know, strange, right?) Anyway, the survey was right on. I am from Southern Ohio and that is what my accent says about me. I knew all along that I didn't have an accent. Those people who say I sound like a hillbilly are crazy...

We had so much fun with this site last night at our Solstice dinner! I was telling about it and then we had to just bring the laptop out for everyone to try. It was right 4 out of 5 times! It pegged me for West (I grew up in E. Colorado), two Ohioans for Midland, a Michigander for Inland North? North Central? whichever of those two is Michigan. And it got the Bostonian from Boston! All in those few questions!
I was wondering how this would work with other accents. I was a pretty easy one to peg. However, people are always telling me I have a southern accent. I really don't think I do, so this proves they are WRONG. YEAH, ME. ;)
I am from the midwest, but they told me that I have a Northeastern accent. Oh well, my Mom's from there. I could have picked it up from her.
