Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt

I know I am so behind the times! I just read Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt and I loved it! There are so many levels to this book. It is humorous, historical, tragic, heart-warming, and well written. I can't believe another book that passed me up for so long. I picked up while waiting on my library to get the Wednesday Wars also by Gary D. Schmidt.
I would recommend this book to a 7th or 8th grader, but I think you could read it aloud to 6th grade. WOW... I don't exactly know what to say about this book! One minute you will be laughing, the next minute thinking seriously, then crying, and maybe even raging. I cannot think of one bad thing about this book. That is probably why it won a Newbery Honor. There are a ton of reviews out there for this book that can give you idea of the plot, but I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the book.
